ABOUT David Wuersig
I am an Illinois certified music teacher and recently retired from 40 years of teaching orchestra in the River Forest public schools.
I am currently a professor of music - string teaching techniques, at Roosevelt University in Chicago.
I have my Bachelor and Master's degree (with Honors) in Music Education from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in Chicago. I have also taken an additional 40 hours of post-graduate classes at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago and the University of Tennessee among others.
I studied violin with Charles Schell, Robert Gillespie and Michael Allen . I studied viola with Harold Kupper. I studied cello with Albert Van De Velde and Karl Fruh. And, I studied string bass extensively with Harold Siegal, Radi Lah, formerly of the Chicago Symphony and Stephen Lester, currently with the Chicago Symphony.
I have performed with the Chicago Civic Symphony, the Skokie Valley Symphony, the Wheaton Symphony and the Chicago Businessmen's Symphony. Currently, I am performing with the Harper College Symphony Orchestra.
